Bulgarian Jews remembered the Jews who died at the hands of the Nazis with a service at Sofia synagogue. The events during the World War II left 6 million Jews murdered, in a mass slaying that became known as the Holocaust. During the World War II Bulgaria barred the deportation of any of its 48,000 Jews.
