IFCJ Aids Jewish Children of Moscow
30.03.2011 The Shaarei Tsedek Charity Center has commenced its latest humanitarian campaign, aimed at providing food parcels to children of Moscow. This initiative is administered thanks to the sponsorship of the Keren Yedidut Fellowship Foundation, headed by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein. Thanks to this initiative, essential food products will reach many Jewish children from Moscow.
The list of the organization’s beneficiaries includes hundreds of children who will, over the next few weeks, receive food assistance. Each food parcel includes a variety of cereals, butter, flour, sugar, canned vegetables and fruit juices. The contents of each package are under the supervision Kashrut Department of the Chief Rabbinate of Russia.
Since 2007, the Keren Yedidut Fellowship Foundation, otherwise known as the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ), has been actively operating in the CIS countries. Since February 2008, it has been active in Moscow with the official launch of IFCJ assistance programs. “We are representatives of the most materially secure generation around, and we want to ensure that those who really are in need of such help actually receive it,” stated Rabbi Eckstein.
The support of the Fellowship Foundation extends to such important things as daily food, clothing and footwear. Over the years, the Foundation has helped a huge number of people across the CIS.
