Commission for CIS Pensions Restored

The Israel government has announced the creation of an inter-ministry commission on the restoration of the social rights of repatriates from countries of exodus. In particular, the commission is to be concerned with the payment of pensions from CIS countries.
The head of the commission is the Minister of Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver. Among the other participants in the group are the Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman, the Ministry of Finance Yuval Shtainiz, the Minister of Justice Yaakov Neeman, the Minister of Information and Diaspora Arffairs Yuli Edelstein, Minister Yossi Peled, and other government officials.
Such a commission existed in the government of Olmert, and was led by Avigdor Liberman, while he remained in the coalition. In the summer of 2008, the creation a draft proposal on the payment of pensions to Ukrainian repatriates was reported.
