                  Meeting Held in Orel for Restitution of Local Synagogue

                  In advance of the holiday of Lag BaOmer, consultative meetings of representatives of all Jewish organizations and their sponsors have taken place in Orel, Russia.
                  Meetings were devoted to the most acute issue that troubles all Jews of the city and region as well as the former citizens of Russia, compatriots living on all continents from Australia to America today. This issue was restitution of the building of the Orel synagogue.
                  Heads of Jewish non-governmental organizations belonging to Joint, the Jewish Agency in Russia, the Union of Religious Communities of Modern Judaism in Russia, the Federal Jewish National and Cultural Autonomy, and such religion-oriented organizations as the Congress of Jewish Religious Organizations and Associations of Russia, and the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia (FJCR) held a joint consultation on legal, financial and ethnic problems concerned with restitution of the synagogue's building.
                  Zeev Vagner, the Rabbi of the Central Federal District of FJCR, took part in the committee's second meeting.
                  Summing up the accomplished discussion, Head of Hesed Nesher's guardian council Mr. Shapiro invited Rabbi Zeev Vagner to address FJCR leaders with the request to prepare the respective documents and action program with the purpose of the synagogue's assignation.
                  And Centre Shalom Jewish community of Orel was charged with on-site solution of questions by engaging corresponding organizations, legal experts and sponsors themselves to achieve a set and approved by the muster common goal - restitution of the synagogue's building to Jews.
