Sholom-Aleichem Festival in Moldova

In connection with the 150th anniversary of birth of the great Jewish writer, at the initiative of the Jewish Congress of the Republic of Moldova and the Moldovan Jewish community, the festival "Days on Sholom Aleichem" will be held.
The festival will start this Saturday with the anniversary show, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the premiere of G. Gorin's "Memorial Prayer" in A.P. Chekhov Russian Drama Theater in Chisinau.
Next week, the following event will continue the festival: a cafe-midrash "Meeting with Sholom Aleichem."
It is planned that the festival will also include a conference Mini-Hevruta - "150 Years Since the Birth of Sholom Aleichem" in the KEDEM Jewish cultural center.
The conference will consist of the reports by famous linguists of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, bibliographers and literary critics: Irina Shihova "The life and creative works of Sholom Aleichem," Dorina Shlaen "Sholom Aleichem on the stage of the Jewish people's theater. Late 1960-s," Sarah Shpitalnik "The great classic of Jewish literature Sholom Aleichem," etc.
The festival will end on June 14, with the demonstration of "Violinist on the Roof" movie in KEDEM JCS and concert "Garland to Sholom Aleichem" in the Small Hall of the Metropolitan Philharmonic.
