Holiday of the Jewish book in Dnepropetrovsk.

                  11.11.2002

The Holiday of the Jewish book held on November 10 in the library "Golden Rose" became unusually cheerful. It was a concert of a book which participants became all visitors. Guests were welcomed by the librarian Elena Savitskaja and Ksyusha Morya with the specially composed by library employees poem "The House where Books Live..."
105 years ago Ilya Ilf was born. The volunteer of the library Isabella Yaffe has told about his life and about work with E.Petrov. And organizers of a holiday have constructed the program around "Twelve Chairs" and "Golden Calf". There were a lot of those wishing to take part in a quiz and in the "Field of Miracles" based on themes of these books. It is remarkable, that children made worthy competition to adults. And this was not a surprise as interest was warmed up by sweet prizes! Adults for a while became children, laughter and jokes created a warm atmosphere of the big family.
When spectators lightly calmed down after the noisy competitions they have heard cheerful stories of Maryan Belenkiy told by Elena Savitskaya. Later they watched the performance based on prose of Dina Rubina "In the Jewish Bus" and performed by spectators themselves - they came to an improvised bus and told the Jewish jokes. "Lets go!"
