                  Appeal of the Jewish community of Armenia to Israeli Knesset

                  July 23 the Jewish community of Armenia has sent a letter to Yuliy Edelstein, Chairman of the Knesset and all the deputies of the Israeli parliament. The appeal is dedicated to the upcoming discussion on the Armenian Genocide in the Knesset. "We have high hopes for Israeli parliamentarians in their positive decision on the recognition of the tragedy of the Armenian people as genocide, — the letter says. — Knesset recognition of the Armenian Genocide will become an important contribution also to the international community's efforts to prevent acts of genocide." The appeal was signed by Rimma Varzhapetyan, Chairman of the Jewish Community of Armenia (EAJC General Council member) and Alexander Poryadochny, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the community.
