Shorashim International Jewish Children’s Camp to open in Ukraine

                  10.08.2017, Ukraine

On August 20-29, the international children’s summer camp “Roots and Future of Diaspora Jews” (Shorashim - Ukraine - 2017) will take place in Slavske (Lviv region, Ukraine).

The children will take part in an exciting educational program that will help them discover new aspects of Jewish wisdom, ancient and conteporary Jewish culture in Ukraine, the Diaspora and in Israel, as well as learn more about themselves.

The program will consist of interactive workshops aimed at enriching the participants in their understanding of Jewish culture in Ukraine, the Diaspora and Israel, and of the forming of Jewish identity. The project will foster strong ties between participants and the Jewish people, as well as foster leadership and develop their creative inclinations. Additional activities include workshops and clubs, a sports program including a swimming pool, tours of Jewish places and other cultural points of interest in sunny, polycultural Ukraine.

An international team of councillors from Ukraine and Israel will be working with the children. The councillors have extensive experience with children’s and youth pograms and projects, and have undergone special seminars and courses to heighten their mastery of informal Jewish education.

More details can be found on the project website.
