The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress would like to wish everyone a happy Purim, as well as peace and prosperity!

A youth seminar on Jewish identity took place in Almaty (Kazakhstan). The seminar was organized under the aegist of the “Mitzvah” Association of Jewish Organizations of Kazakhstan.

It is with pain and sadness that we have learned of the death of our friend and partner, a businessman and an active figure in the Moldavian Jewish community Anatoliy Leibovitch. He passed away in Israel, where he flew to participate in the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress General Assembly.

As always during the winter holidays, the Sefer Center for the University Teaching of Jewish Civilization held its traditional international Jewish Studies conference and, just after that, its winter school for students, graduate students, and young scholars.

On February 3-5, the Sefer Center for the University Teaching of Jewish Civilization held its traditional international Jewish Studies conference. The Sefer Center is a part of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, and is directed by EAJC General Council member, Dr. Victoria Mochalova. Its Academic Board Chairman is Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Secretary General, professor Michael Chlenov. The EAJC was once again one of the major conference sponsors together with the JDC, the Genesis Fund, and the Russian Jewish Congress.

On January 27, 2014, the Almaty Jewish Community Center “Rimon” hosted a rally commemorating the victims of the Holocaust. The opening speech was given by the President of the Kazakhstan Association of Jewish Communities “Mitzvah,” Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Presidium member Alexander Baron.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress would like to present heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased Ariel Sharon, and to all those who knew and respected the late former Prime Minister.
